The Gaelic Athletic Association has since its foundation played a significant role in the lives of the people of Galway. This is true not just of the players, management and spectators that are an integral part of the clubs. For the organisation’s teams, sporting events, tournaments and social occasions have over the decades shaped and fostered an identity and sense of well-being for local communities and parishes across Ireland.

This project hopes to introduce this rich heritage resource through a series of photographs, text and interviews
