Visit to the parish church of Lord Clonbrock
A film documentary of the living history of Clonbrock demesne by the pupils of St. Patrick’s National School from nearby Fohenagh. In episode three, the youngsters visit the pretty little church of St. Catherines in the village of Ahascragh. It served as the parish church and final resting place of the Lords of Clonbrock.
Sarah and her fellow pupils read from the family bible of Lady Augusta Dillon, examine the memorial plates on the walls dedicated to members of local families who died abroad whilst serving as military officers and civil administrators of the British Empire. They finally view the gravestones of the Dillons and some of their faithful servants.
