Josephine Dermody gives a brief interview on her grandfather Jack Gilmore and father Bob Grady who were both gardeners at Clonbrock House belonging to one of the greatest of the Anglo-Irish aristocracy.

 


Georgian & Victorian Gardens of Clonbrock –The aristocracy of the Georgian & Victorian era prided themselves on developing and maintaining leisure gardens with manicured lawns, classical sculptures, water features & ornamentation and lush flower beds as well as glasshouses & food crops.   Many of the plots grown came from the far corners of the British Empire.
